First Annual Bike Run for Meuthen Marine kick starts June 5

On Sunday, June 5, bikers will ride for the memory of U.S.M.C. PFC Eric Currier in the 1st Annual Memorial Bike Run. Motorcycle riders will gather at Coyle’s Tavern, located at 1480 Broadway Road in Dracut, at 8:30 a.m. for registration. A celebration with food, raffles, live music and more will follow the riders’ return at 4 p.m.

The bike run will begin at 10:30 a.m., where riders will be led by a police escort through Dracut, Meuthen, Haverhill and Newbury, among others. The riders will have one stop, the Chop Shop of Seabrook, NH, before returning to Coyle’s Tavern by 4 p.m. The riders will also pass the memorial site for PFC Currier on the returning ride.

Organized by his friends and family, the memorial bike run will honor U.S.M.C. PFC Eric Currier, who was killed in action on February 17, 2010 in Afghanistan. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit that offers financial assistance to injured service men and women.

Tickets are $20 per person and are available at Coyle’s Tavern. If you are unable to ride or attend the after party, donations can be sent to the Meuthen Co-Operative Bank, P.O. Box 657, Meuthen, MA. Any amount is appreciated.

A rain date has been set for Sunday, June 12, 2011. Be sure to join the group on its Facebook Event page. For more information, contact Russ Currier at 978-390-0911 or via email at hdrider247@yahoo.com.
