Car Show and Cookout to Benefit the American Cancer Society on Aug. 20

On Saturday, August 20, grab the family and head down to Cherry Hill Ice Cream Too, located at 53 Main Street in Townsend, for an afternoon of classic cars, delicious barbecue and rich ice cream. All proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society through its Relay for Life program.

The second annual Car Show is scheduled from 12 to 5 p.m. and is free to attend. The afternoon will feature live entertainment, barbecue favorites such as hamburgers and hotdogs, ice cream, prizes and much more! Organizers are expecting an even larger turn out than last year, which featured more than 100 classic cars.

David Lamoureux, one of the event organizers, along with his wife Kathy, are the owners of D&K Entertainment. They will take the stage and perform country and do-wop classics. Their son, Anthony Lamoureux, is a National Country Music Award winner and will also be featured in the afternoon’s performances.

The inaugural Car Show raised nearly $1,000 and this year, Lamoureux and fellow organizers Tubby Boucher, Neil Colicchio and cancer-survivor Kathy Harris are hoping to exceed this amount. Your participation this weekend can help make a tremendous impact in cancer research and improve the lives of those who have been affected.

In case of inclement weather, a rain date for the car show has been scheduled for Sunday, August 21. For more information, please contact Tubby Boucher at 978-597-8876 or David Lamoureux at 978-846-8763.
