The Third Annual Party Against Parkinson’s in America event will be held on December 4 at 2:30 p.m. at the Salem High School Auditorium in Salem, N.H. This is a family oriented event featuring a holiday talent show with many local artists as well as a silent auction for dozens of autographed items. Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased on the Team Fox website. Proceeds from the event will benefit Team Fox and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
After publicly disclosing his condition in 1998, actor Michael J. Fox made a commitment to Parkinson’s disease research, leading him to establish the Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2000. The Foundation aims to raise awareness about Parkinson’s disease and to raise money to support research efforts. In 2006, Team Fox was launched to spread awareness by allowing events to be created as a fundraising effort. Event coordinator Richard Zecchino is registered with Team Fox and has his own event page with information, a ticket ordering form and FAQ’s. Zecchino’s event is in memory of his father who passed away from Parkinson’s disease.
The auction will have items including autographed musician memorabilia such as an autographed Bruce Springsteen guitar, Aerosmith drumhead and autographed portraits of Justin Beiber, the Star Trek cast and many more.
