Join Windham Pilates this Thursday, January 12 for their Zumbathon for the Relay for Life. The organization is hosting this event for both those experienced with Zumba, as well as novices, and all proceeds will go to the Relay for Life. The Zumbathon will take place at the Golden Brook School gymnasium in Windham, N.H. from 4 to 6 p.m.

The Relay for Life is an event sponsored by the American Cancer Society in which relay teams are formed to raise money. These events take place across the nation at various high schools, parks and fairgrounds where participants walk on a track or path with their teammates. Relay for Life events often take place overnight, and some reach up to 24 hours long. Every year, more than 3.5 million participants take part in Relay for Life events, often relaying for loved ones who have battled, are currently battling or lost the battle to cancer. Proceeds from all Relay for Life events go towards the American Cancer Society, which in turn, donates money to assist in the cost of treatment, transportation to appointments and college scholarships for cancer patients and survivors.

While Windham does not yet have a Relay for Life event scheduled, people can search local events on the Relay for Life website to donate or participate. The Zumbathon is located at 112B Lowell Road in Windham and is a fun way to exercise with family and friends while supporting a great cause with a $10 admission fee.
