The 20th Annual Chelmsford Winterfest will begin Friday, February 3 at 5:30 p.m. and go through February 5, featuring a variety of events including free public skating, an art exhibit, a Chowder Fest and nighttime snowshoeing. There is also a photo contest available for Chelmsford residents with an opportunity to win cash prizes. This is an excellent family and community event sponsored by local businesses and is held the first weekend of February every year.
The Winterfest is a great opportunity to get together with family and friends in the Chelmsford community. This year, the Chelmsford Public Library is hosting a photography contest with three contest categories: professional, amateur and student. Photos submitted must have been taken after January 1, 2011 in order to qualify to win cash prizes, and the contest is open to all Chelmsford residents. No submissions will be accepted after January 21. The exhibit featuring a variety of submissions will be held on Saturday the 4th at the Chelmsford Library from 2 to 4 p.m. and feature refreshments and live music. Those looking for fun geared towards kids are encouraged to stop by the Chowder Fest on the 4th at noon for free kid’s games and prizes, balloons and popcorn as well as food, ice cream and baked goods for sale.
