A fundraising comedy event will be held at Fody’s Tavern in Nashua, N.H. on February 23 at 9 p.m. for the Zachary M. Tompkins Memorial Fund. The event will feature one of New Hampshire’s best comics, Nick Lavallee, and the bar will open promptly at 8 p.m. The Zachary M. Tompkins Fund aims to raise money to build a community stadium in memory of Zachary Tompkins, a Hudson resident who passed away at the age of 12 in his sleep.
Zachary Tompkins, a young football player for the Hudson-Litchfield Bears, passed away on March 8. 2010. One week prior to his passing, he crafted a design for a stadium for his team and shared it with his family. As a way to honor the passing of a young, energetic and inspirational individual, several Hudson residents and town officials along with State Senator Sharon Carson have united in the effort to build the stadium of Tompkins dreams. This facility will feature two football fields, surround sound, a paved walking path and an ice rink for the winter. The town has already graciously donated 13 acres with a 25-year lease and the project is solely supported by funds raised through events like these.
Lavallee has agreed to donate 10% of all CD sales to the Zachary M. Tompkins Fund as well as proceeds raised from door donations and 50/50 raffles. Those who are unable to attend the event but wish to donate to the Zachary M. Tompkins Fund are encouraged to visit the website where they can donate online.
