Get your team together, grab some costumes and get ready for a good old-fashioned spelling bee! The 15th Annual Andover Spelling Bee is set to take place on Friday, March 30 at 7 PM at Wood Hill Middle School in Andover, MA. This spelling bee is unique in that it is designed as a team sport, and there will be no solo spelling. All spelling bee teams are encouraged to attend in costume, as are audience members who often dress up to support their favorite teams. Each year, fans are invited to participate in a Spirit Parade, and Spirit Award is presented to the spelling team with the most fans present. Furthermore, a trophy will be awarded to the team with the most creative costume. This one-of-a-kind spelling bee is sponsored by the Andover Fund for Education (AFE).
AFE was founded in 1991 to support the pursuit of excellence in education through the public school system in Andover. Twice a year, AFE provides grants to local educators to implement new and creative education projects that reinforce and strengthen the curriculum within the school system.
