The Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence has been providing a safe learning environment for children since 1891. The Club provides nightly meals, recreational programs, educational help and a place to stay after school to the over 3,100 children each year. High school students are provided with scholarship and college help as needed. Most of the children and teens who attend the Boys and Girls Club come from underprivileged families and rough areas of the city. The Club provides powerful pregnancy, gang and drug prevention initiatives that have been featured in top newspapers and even remarked about by Vice President Joe Biden.
The cost for a single golfer in the tournament is $250, though other packages are available for foursomes and combination groups, all of which can be viewed at the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence website.
