The City of Gardner, MA will hold its 2012 Block Party on Saturday, July 21 from 11 AM until 8 PM. This fun community event is sponsored by Acadian Social Club, GFA Credit Union and Sharp Image. Rain or shine, the event will take place on Parker Street between Regan Street and Greenwood Street. The street will be closed, and parking will be available on Regan Street, Greenwood Street and the GFA parking lot. Bring your whole family, and enjoy live music, food, beverages and carnival treats. From 12 until 4 PM, families can also enjoy activities such as dunk tanks, face painting and a fire department display.
The Acadien Social Club was formed in 1933 in order to protect the culture, tradition and language of the Acadien Community in Gardner. Throughout history, members have gathered together to play their favorite card games and dance to traditional Acadien music. The Acadien Social Club continues to prosper after more than 42 years of serving the community and its club members. They continue to adhere to their founder’s motto of “Unity, Charity and Fraternity” in everything they do.
