July 12th is Opening Day for the Chelmsford Farmer’s Market
We love fresh organic food grown locally. We also love buying wares from local businesses. That’s why we are so happy that this year’s Farmers Market in Chelmsford MA opens this Thursday afternoon from 2 pm – 6 pm in the Chelmsford Common.
So who will be there on Opening Day you ask? Well Kathy O’Brien, co-market leader and Chelmsford resident told Patch.com the list of vendors to date are:
Sweet Lydia’s gourmet marshmallow and chocolate covered pretzels; Bagel Alley; Monadnock Berries/Hill Orchard with all types of berries, blueberries, raspberries, gooseberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, peaches, plums, and 25 varieties of apples; Cookie Lady with cookies, s’mores, brownies caramels, and croissants; Foxbarn Farm with fresh vegetables, honey, corn, lettuce and herbs; La Bella Dolce Bakery with pies, biscotti, scones, muffins, whoopee pies and granola; Still River Winery’s Apfel Eis (apple ice wine); Brewed Awakening Coffeehaus with freshly squeezed lemonade, iced coffee, hot/iced tea, lattes, and pounds of coffee beans; Manna Gardens with plants of pollinators, perennials, biennials, annuals, pressed flower crafts, and books on butterfly conservation; Fior D’italia Pasta and Cheese with fresh pasta, ravioli, sauces, pasta entrees, and mozzarella; Benevolent Beaders selling bracelets, earrings, jewelry, including semi precious stones; Jones Farm with vegetables, cheese, honey, cut flowers, peaches and apples; Got Thy Me Personal Chef Service with soups, chicken pot pie, shepherd’s pie, quiche and salads; Keyks with baked goods; and lastly, Parlee Farm with berries and vegetables.
This year the Farmer’s Market will also feature guitar players, musical bands for children, and youth group bands. O’Brien is expecting a jewelry maker, a vegan product vendor, a T-shirt and hat maker and a vendor that makes lobster Mac and Cheese.
During the market hours O’Brien is running a program called, “Its happening on the common.” She told Path.com, Bring your yoga mat and learn yoga. Thinking about raising chickens? Come find out how. Want to save energy and have a free house audit? Come sign up with Mass Save. Thinking of getting a cat? Come talk to the cat people. Want your little one to love vegetables? Come watch our giant vegetable puppet show.”
- The Farmer’s Market is from 2 pm – 6pm every Thursday through October 18th and is located at the Chelmsford Common.
- It is ideally located with plenty of parking and across the street from the Bruce Freeman bike trail at the intersection of Route 110 and Route 4 (Town Common, North Road).
